This course will give you the necessary tools and techniques to develop a lifelong passion for drawing on location and telling stories using your sketches. Urban Sketchers is the international community of artists who show their world one drawing at a time and share their work online through blogs and social media channels.
This course will cultivate the ability to draw quickly and from direct observation, pulling inspiration from daily experiences, combining words and illustrations to create vivid, funny and memorable snapshots of everyday life. Additionally, we will turn our attention to architecture and street scenes using rules of perspective to draw indoors and outdoors using expressive, fluid, and confident ink lines, and bringing our stories and characters to life with the help of watercolor. Finally, we will work on building a successful visual story by selecting, framing and designing it on the pages of our sketchbooks.
