Explore the history and practice of new media and video based art in this seminar. We will look at glitch art, the use of appropriated/found footage, projection mapping, diary film, installation art, and in-camera (abstract) imaging… uniquely 21st century oriented practices with origins from across the centuries. This course utilizes readings and screenings, along with discussion boards, online seminar sessions, and talks with visiting artists to help you develop a comprehensive understanding of media art practices.

Prerequisite: Basic understanding of video/film production process helpful but not necessary.
